I'm pretty sure less than 0.01%* of people actually laugh out loud when they say "lol". If they did laugh out loud every single time they said "lol", there would be a lot of laugh lines showing on more than half the population's* faces. If your friend sends to you a funny text message, chances are you won't laugh out loud. You might grin. Or smile. But I don't think you would lol, or lmao** for that matter. People don't laugh their ###'s off, I don't think it works that way. (Um.. Walking into a room where someone was literally "lmao"... Well... I'm not sure how they would get the ### back on. Minor observation.)
So please, all I'm trying to say here in this blog is to prevent the missuse of common phrases like "lol" or "lmao". (Cue the Sara McLaughlin music.) This is extremly important. And only you can change this. Please help.
